再 or 又? Repeating an action

Two 'again's that do not mix

又: repetition that has already happened

又 (yòu) indicates that an action has been REPRODUCED: it has already happened, often with 了.

又 + Verb + 了
It rained yesterday, and it rained again today.

再: future repetition

再 (zài) announces a FUTURE repetition or an invitation to do it again: 'one more time', 're-'.

再 + Verb
Say it again, please.
