Saying no: 不 and 没
Two negations, two uses
不: the general negation
不 (bù) negates the present, the future, habits, and volitions. It is the default negation.
Subject + 不 + Verb
没: not have, not have done
没 (méi) negates the verb 有 (to have) and past actions: what has not taken place.
