More and more: 越来越 and 越…越…

Expressing progression

越来越 + adjective

越来越 (yuèláiyuè) means "more and more." Never use 很 before the adjective that follows.

Subject + 越来越 + Adjective (+ 了)
The weather is getting hotter and hotter.
He speaks Chinese better and better.

越 A 越 B: the more... the more...

"The more you A, the more you B": 越 (yuè) is placed before each of the two elements.

越 + Verb/Adjective 1 + 越 + Verb/Adjective 2
The more you learn Chinese, the more interesting it is.
The more I think about it, the angrier I get.
