Experiential: 过

"Have already..." at least once in one's life

Verb + 过

过 (guo) after the verb means 'have already done (at least once)'. It refers to experience, not a specific moment.

Subject + Verb + 过 (+ Object)
I have already been to China.

Negation: 没…过

Unlike 了, 过 remains in the negative sentence: 没 + verb + 过 = 'have never done'.

Subject + 没 + Verb + 过
I have never been to the United States.
He has never eaten Chinese food.
