Comparing with 比

Bigger, more expensive, more interesting...

A 比 B + adjective

比 (bǐ) compares: “A is more … than B”. Importantly, don’t add 很 before the adjective in a comparison!

Today is colder than yesterday.

Specifying the difference

After the adjective, you can specify by how much: 一点儿 (a little), 得多 (much), or an exact quantity.

A + 比 + B + Adjective + difference
He is three years older than me.
This one is a little more expensive than that one.

The negative: 没有

To say “A is not as … as B”, the most natural is A 没有 B + adjective.
